Children who require specialized nutrition may have conditions like malabsorption, gastrointestinal (GI) disorders, or food allergies. They can experience distressing symptoms, including nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Abbott specialty products provide pediatric nutrition support that may help in the dietary management of your child's condition.

Breaking Down the Protein Puzzle

Children with various GI conditions may benefit from specialized nutrition products with broken-down (hydrolyzed) protein. Children with food allergies, including cow's milk allergy, may require hypoallergenic, extensively hydrolyzed formulas. When extensively hydrolyzed formulas are not tolerated, hypoallergenic, amino acid-based formulas may be necessary. Amino acids are the smallest building block of protein.
